With the GOJHL trade deadline now in the rearview, the Caledonia Corvairs were once again active in strengthening their lineup for the stretch run. Three new players were acquired prior to the deadline, with two already making their Corvairs debuts and one more set to join the team shortly.
Michael Barker, 19, from Buffalo, New York, was acquired from the Buffalo Regals (GOJHL) earlier in the week. Known for his quick release, goal-scoring ability, and high-end speed, Barker brings offensive firepower and plenty of potential. He recorded an impressive 19 goals and 11 assists for 30 points in just 29 games with the Regals.
Anthony Aguanno, also 19, hails from Mississauga, Ontario, and was picked up from the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs. After beginning the season focusing on academics, Aguanno has returned to the ice in strong form. He tallied two assists in his first two games with Caledonia and brings grit, speed, and strong defensive instincts to the blue line.
Rounding out the trio is Cole Tymkin, 20, from Rainy River, Ontario. Tymkin is a seasoned veteran with four years of OHL experience with the London Knights. Over 199 OHL games, he posted 38 goals, 55 assists, and 93 points, while racking up 337 penalty minutes. Tymkin’s physical presence, leadership, and high-level experience will be a valuable asset to the Corvairs moving forward.
Stay tuned as these new additions look to make their mark during the final stretch of the season.
